Kosher Sea Salt
When speaking of food, the term "kosher" implies that the food has been made in accordance with the guidelines for kosher foods as written in the Torah. When speaking of salt, this is not why it is termed kosher. Kosher salt is more effective at extracting moisture or blood from meat during the "koshering" process; it is this reason for the nomenclature. As opposed to being a cubic crystal, kosher salt has a flat platelet shape allowing it to remain on the surface of the meat longer without dissolving.
